Next Library Book Exchange is Tuesday, January 28th.

Aujourd'hui, (nous avons fait) deux science experiments et une collation et we did le numéro sept et Sarah (est) l'étoile du jour et we did Cosmic Kids Yoga et le numéro de pommes est 85. -Alexis
Aujourd'hui, c'est Sarah qui est l'étoile du jour et we did deux experiments, one was we made natural dyes (from vegetables) and the other was opaque et transparent et la pomme est 85. -Jack

Aujourd'hui, nous avons les copains de lecture.
In our Creating Colours unit in science, we have been learning about natural colours and manufactured colours.  We watched two videos (linked below) to learn about natural dyes from plants.  Today, we did a science experiment to create natural colours (purple and red) from purple cabbage (le chou violet), beets, coffee and hot water.  Then, using baking soda and lime juice, we were able to create two (pink and  blue) more colours (chemistry!!!).  We put cooked macaroni in the natural dyes to make fun coloured pasta.  Science is so fun!

We have also been discussing, identifying and comparing things that are transparent and opaque.  We conducted a second experiment to determine if some common household items were transparent or opaque.  Please ask your child to name something that is transparent and also something that is opaque.













We wrote it our journals today about the clothes we were wearing.

Message To Parents: FOOD BANK DONATIONS NEEDED PLEASE We are collecting non-perishable food items for the Mayor's Food Bank Drive until December 19.    Items can include:   P asta sauce, granola bars, juice boxes, powdered milk, stage three baby food, peanut butter, pasta, rice, soup cans or packages, cereal, oatmeal, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned beans, canned fruit, pancake/bread/biscuit mixes, gluten-free pasta, etc.   Thank you for your support!
