Day 14 - 14e jour d'école

On Wednesday, we will be going to the library/learning commons to exchange our books.  Please have your child return their books to school tomorrow or on Wednesday, Day 1.  Thank you in advance.

 Today:
-our reading buddies came. -Addy
-we did the song C'est l'automne and we did la lettre O. -Alexis
-it was a special day because it was the BOK program (in the morning before school). -Haddon
-it was Arya M.'s special day. -Sarah
-we had snack and lunch. -Jack
-we opened abrown bag and it was Ameila's brown bag. -Harley
-we had two recesses. -Arya M.
-we had recess, snack and lunch. -Hannah-Mae
-we got a new book (for reading). -Sarah
-we did calendrier. -Hannah-Mae
Today, we heard the story about la lettre o. Please ask your child to tell you the story and also what sound o makes in French.
To welcome the first day of fall, we read the book, Le premier automne de Bertrand.  Please ask your child to tell you what the story is about.

Message To Parents: Further to my email sent earlier this week, I have made a change.   Students may come to school dressed in their costume on October 31st and may wear their costume for the entire school day if they wish.   Students will need to remove their costume if it is cumbersome and/or not safe for running during our gym period. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Day 1 - Premier jour d'école

First Day of School - Welcome to Grade One Today, we read a book called First Day Jitters and talked about being nervous and excited at the same time in new and unfamiliar situations.  We then toured the school including the new areas of the Learning Commons and also visited the other grade one classes.  Please ask your child about the Zen Room in the Learning Commons!  We  discussed school and class rules, decorated and coloured a shoe for our spot in the coatroom, played a name game in French called: Bonjour, je m'appelle and enjoyed the sunshine outdoors for physical education.  We had a great first day of grade one and can't wait for day two!
