Day 7 - 7e jour d'école

-we had snack and lunch and then we did mathématiques. -Harley
-we had a movement break. -Mallory
-we goed out for recess two times. -Alexis
-we had snack and lunch two times. -Hannah-Mae
-it was Patrick's special helper day. -Haddon
-we had copains de lecture (grade four reading buddies). -Halle
-we wrote in the pomme rouge (book). -Alexis

 Today, we brainstormed a list of things that are rouge and found matching images on Google.  We copied the words in our red pomme book.  Please ask your child to identify some red objects.




In math, we practiced la subitization (recognizing number 1-10 at a glance and without counting).


 We invite you  to join us at our Fall Welcome on Friday, September 13th from 7:30 - 8:15 am.  All grade ones classes will be wearing the colour BLUE.

Message To Parents: Further to my email sent earlier this week, I have made a change.   Students may come to school dressed in their costume on October 31st and may wear their costume for the entire school day if they wish.   Students will need to remove their costume if it is cumbersome and/or not safe for running during our gym period. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Day 1 - Premier jour d'école

First Day of School - Welcome to Grade One Today, we read a book called First Day Jitters and talked about being nervous and excited at the same time in new and unfamiliar situations.  We then toured the school including the new areas of the Learning Commons and also visited the other grade one classes.  Please ask your child about the Zen Room in the Learning Commons!  We  discussed school and class rules, decorated and coloured a shoe for our spot in the coatroom, played a name game in French called: Bonjour, je m'appelle and enjoyed the sunshine outdoors for physical education.  We had a great first day of grade one and can't wait for day two! Please check your child's blue folder for letters sent home and return the After School Transportation letter to school.  Please also read the letter about our fun brown bag activity.
