Day 3 - 3e jour d'école

Today in the morning, we did calendar and practiced our days of the week and months of the year songs.  We listened to a song about la couleur rouge (the colour red) and learned a new poem about rouge.  We coloured and cut out the words to the poem rouge.  After recess, we continued our math activity about the number of boys and the number of girls in our class.  We discovered that we have 13 girls and 11 boys in the class.  This afternoon, we had our first music class with Madame Zdrill, followed by our first physical education class with Monsieur Trevor.  We opened Sarah's brown bag and learned that she has likes cats and have 3 at home!  We finished our day with centers.

Tomorrow, we welcome you to join us for our Welcome Assembly at 8:45 am in the school gym.

Message To Parents: Further to my email sent earlier this week, I have made a change.   Students may come to school dressed in their costume on October 31st and may wear their costume for the entire school day if they wish.   Students will need to remove their costume if it is cumbersome and/or not safe for running during our gym period. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Day 1 - Premier jour d'école

First Day of School - Welcome to Grade One Today, we read a book called First Day Jitters and talked about being nervous and excited at the same time in new and unfamiliar situations.  We then toured the school including the new areas of the Learning Commons and also visited the other grade one classes.  Please ask your child about the Zen Room in the Learning Commons!  We  discussed school and class rules, decorated and coloured a shoe for our spot in the coatroom, played a name game in French called: Bonjour, je m'appelle and enjoyed the sunshine outdoors for physical education.  We had a great first day of grade one and can't wait for day two!
