Day 8 - 8e jour d'école

Today:
-in our green books (journals) we writed bonjour and then we wrietd je m'appelle and the person's name. -Haddon
-we had snack and lunch. -Halle
-it was Harley's special birthday day and we did her brown bag. -Sammy
-we did subitization. -Alexis
-it was Ethan's (helper) special day. -Jack
-we went to gymnase. -Asher
-we had two recesses. -Harley
-we went to musique. -Marlo
-we had lunch and snack. -Hannah-Mae
-we getted a new book and we readed it together. -Alexis

 Students each got a new book called Mon école.  We are learning to read together!

Today, we wrote in our journals for the first time!  Please ask your child what we wrote and what we drew.

I am looking forward to seeing you at our Fall Welcome tomorrow morning!

Message To Parents: Further to my email sent earlier this week, I have made a change.   Students may come to school dressed in their costume on October 31st and may wear their costume for the entire school day if they wish.   Students will need to remove their costume if it is cumbersome and/or not safe for running during our gym period. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Day 1 - Premier jour d'école

First Day of School - Welcome to Grade One Today, we read a book called First Day Jitters and talked about being nervous and excited at the same time in new and unfamiliar situations.  We then toured the school including the new areas of the Learning Commons and also visited the other grade one classes.  Please ask your child about the Zen Room in the Learning Commons!  We  discussed school and class rules, decorated and coloured a shoe for our spot in the coatroom, played a name game in French called: Bonjour, je m'appelle and enjoyed the sunshine outdoors for physical education.  We had a great first day of grade one and can't wait for day two! Please check your child's blue folder for letters sent home and return the After School Transportation letter to school.  Please also read the letter about our fun brown bag activity.
