Day 10 - 10e jour d'école

Today:
-we did a graph about how do you get to school. -Hannah-Mae
-we had lunch and snack. -Sarah
-we went to the bibliothèque. -Hannah
-we were doing how we go to school (in math). -Harley
-we did two recesses. -Haddon
-we snack and lunch. -Halle
-we did Mini TFO and we did mathématiques. -Alexis
-you go to your desk and you have (the poem) Rouge on it and your had it to put the (poem) in order and then you had read it three times. -Haddon
-we did the letter e. -Maddox
-we did Ethan's brown bag. -Marlo
-Jack was our special helper. -Madame Emily
-we went to the library. -Haddon
Today, we heard the story about la lettre e. Please ask your child to tell you the story and also what sound e makes in French.



Today Madame Emily read us the book, Le rouge c'est bien mieux.  Please ask me what this book is about.

We will be participating in the Terry Fox Run and Walk on September 27 at 8:45.  Families are invited to join us!

Students and families are invited to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation in the following ways: by contributing online by visiting 
http://www.terryfox.ca/VarsityAcres or, alternatively, sending cash or cheque (made payable to The Terry Fox Foundation) to classroom collection boxes. Tax receipts will be issued by the Terry Fox Foundation for donations over $20.00.  All monies raised through our event will be forwarded to the Foundation to further the cause of cancer research. The deadline for donation is Friday, September 27, 2019.

Message To Parents: Further to my email sent earlier this week, I have made a change.   Students may come to school dressed in their costume on October 31st and may wear their costume for the entire school day if they wish.   Students will need to remove their costume if it is cumbersome and/or not safe for running during our gym period. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Day 1 - Premier jour d'école

First Day of School - Welcome to Grade One Today, we read a book called First Day Jitters and talked about being nervous and excited at the same time in new and unfamiliar situations.  We then toured the school including the new areas of the Learning Commons and also visited the other grade one classes.  Please ask your child about the Zen Room in the Learning Commons!  We  discussed school and class rules, decorated and coloured a shoe for our spot in the coatroom, played a name game in French called: Bonjour, je m'appelle and enjoyed the sunshine outdoors for physical education.  We had a great first day of grade one and can't wait for day two!
